Overview

Are you a nursing student that wants to gain both clinical and administrative skills?  Love summer camp and helping others? Come work, live, and play with us this summer! Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, a premier overnight summer camp for youth in Southern New England, is seeking Nursing Assistants for the Summer of 2025.  Rotating shifts include 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm to 7am

 

Located on nearly 1400 forested acres in the Town of Becket, nestled within the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA is an independent YMCA camp which operates programs serving hundreds of campers. Boasting over a century of tradition, our industry leading programs include the Camp Becket for boys and Chimney Corners Camp for girls, the Travel & Service Programs, and Becket Day Camp.

Responsibilities

Nursing Assistants assist the Camp Nurse/Medical Staff with the overall operations of the Camp Health Services: 

  • Assist with the maintenance of medical equipment and supplies, medicines, reports in accordance with established practice and under the direction of the Camp Nurse/Medical Staff and Camp Physicians.
  • Ensure that the Infirmary and its facilities are kept clean, quiet, and prepared to deal with emergency and on-going health care of camp participants and staff  
  • Help provide health care coverage and stand available for emergencies, illnesses, in-patient care, sick calls, and transport of patients to specialist or hospital

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Must be actively enrolled in nursing school
  • Experience working with children
  • Currently certified First Aid & CPR  
  • Must have availability for training the week of June 16th and at least 2 weeks (all summer is preferred) between 6/22 and 8/15.    
  • Must be able to provide proof of a physical within the last 18 months and proof that you are up to date on all required immunizations. 
  • Under Massachusetts state law, our campus is a drug- and alcohol-free zone.  No one, regardless of legal age, is permitted to consume alcohol or drugs including nicotine or tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) on the Becket-Chimney Corners properties.

Posted Salary Range

USD $16.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.
